Here are key dates for voting in the election, which is less than a month away.
Monday, Oct. 7 is the last day to register to vote or update your current voter registration address. It’s also the first day that ballots will be mailed to voters who have requested them.
Voters can register or update their address at the Board of Elections office at 41 Fairground Road in Lexington or online at mvp.sos.ga.gov.
The first day for early voting is Oct. 15. Early voting will continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (including Saturdays) through Friday, Nov. 1 at the elections office.
You must have a valid photo ID to vote.
The last day to request a ballot is Friday, Oct. 25 by mail.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, which is Tuesday, Nov. 5. The precincts are at the Board of Elections in Lexington, The Depot in Crawford and Sunlight Baptist Church in Crawford.
Registered voters are encouraged to go to mvp.sos.ga.gov to check their voter registration, absentee ballot status, Election Day polling location and update their registration.
