The Oglethorpe Echo
Will Stevenson will be the new director of the Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, board members confirmed Monday.
Stevenson comes from Barrow County Animal Control, where he was an investigator.
“We’re really excited (to have Stevenson),” MOAS board member Christy Champagne said Monday. “He’s going to do a great job.”
He replaces Erica Hendrix, who had served in the role since March 2023. Shelter manager Juli Huth served as the interim director.
MOAS remains closed to intakes and adoptions, but Champagne and fellow board member Steve Ledford said they’re working to reopen the shelter as soon as possible.
