Chamber launches Patriot Bucks to encourage local spending

Shopping in Oglethorpe County just got easier with the launch of Patriot Bucks. The $10 cards were to be randomly mailed to 250 households this week to encourage local spending. The cards can be used like cash for any item or service at participating businesses within the county.

Chamber sees personnel changes

Local businesses continue to be focus of chamber

Williamson Sintyl became the new chairman of the Oglethorpe County Chamber of Commerce last month. After being elected to a three-year term by the other board members, Sintyl took on this role with the intention of “serving, supporting and promoting local businesses.

He’s all business

Owen Bullard, the new chairman of the Oglethorpe County Chamber of Commerce, has several ideas to revamp the chamber, including establishing a women’s networking group.

Zoning board approves coffee shop, deer processing plant

Oglethorpe County is one step closer to having a new coffee shop.   Amy Delfin-Torres’ plan to open a coffee shop at 9 Callaway Road was approved by the zoning board on Monday night.

Chamber of Commerce to host 11th annual Firefly Cruise In

The Oglethorpe County Chamber of Commerce will host the 11th Annual Firefly Cruise In from 1-5 p.m. Sunday. This family-friendly car show will take place at the Courthouse Square in Lexington.    “I’m feeling really good about it this year,” said Linda Parish, the chamber’s office manager.
