OCHS coaches prepare teams for start of new year

Oglethorpe County High School’s spring sports teams began practice on Monday and will take the field later this month. Soccer, track and field, baseball and golf will open with a heavy focus on preparation and early-season development.

Seniors look to spark a girls basketball rebound

Coming off their first losing season (6-18) since 2019-20, the Oglethorpe County girls basketball team is looking to bounce back, led by strong freshman and senior classes.

Henderson’s legacy as a quiet leader, gifted athlete

Whether sprinting down the track, digging a volleyball or dropping double-doubles on the basketball court, senior Kenzie Henderson is a multi-sport athlete who has done it all.  Even more important, she said being an athlete in Oglethorpe County has impacted her for the better.

Track teams shoot for state this spring

Ke’Mauri Brown has new goals this year after advancing to the state track meet as a sophomore. “(I want to) really try to PR (personal record) in long jump and help the team out as much as I can this year,” Brown said.
