Girls soccer sets sights on growth, connection

The Oglethorpe County girls soccer team is navigating a coaching change, but the transition is led by a familiar face. Madison Nimmons graduated in 2020 and was a standout striker for the Patriots.

Girls wrestlers bear brunt of weather issues

The winter weather has played havoc with Oglethorpe County athletic schedules, especially girls wrestling, which faces two tournaments in three days. The girls wrestling team was scheduled to compete at the area traditional tournament at Locust Grove on Wednesday (after The Echo’s deadline).

Forschler focuses solely on girls team this spring

Coaching both varsity soccer teams at Oglethorpe County was unstainable for Erich Forschler, so he decided to focus solely on the girls this season. “I had to pick one,” said Forschler, who coached both the girls and boys teams in 2024. “Last year, both teams got half of me. And no team got my best.
