Jose Macias-Garcia, who recently lived in the Sims Cross Road area in Stephens, was arrested as part of a drug bust at several properties in Athens-Clarke County on Friday, according to a release from the Oglethorpe County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office took part in the operation, in cooperation with Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force.
Law enforcement officials seized 86 pounds of methamphetamine valued at more than $340,000, a Springfield Armory 9 mm handgun and approximately $32,000 in cash.
Macias-Garcia was one of six people arrested for trafficking methamphetamine after the search at the Hallmark trailer park on Spring Valley Road and at Pinewood Estates North trailer park on U.S. Highway 29 North.
Macias-Garcia had moved to Athens after being arrested by the Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s Department.
