Ken Arnold
Ken Arnold, who lives in Lexington, recently retired after 25 years with Rayle EMC.
Arnold is married to Oglethorpe County Tax Commissioner Sheila Arnold, who said last year that she plans to retire this November. Sheila Arnold didn’t seek reelection and will be succeeded by Dawn Scarborough, who won the primary in May.
Ken was honored during a luncheon at Rayle EMC’s Lexington office on June 13, when he received a plaque and a monetary gift from the co-op, according to the Rayle EMC newsletter.
He was hired as a groundman on July 22, 1991 and was rehired as a lineman on Sept. 3, 1999. Ken held other positions, including apprentice lineman, journeyman lineman, journeyman lead lineman, staking technician trainee and Lexington district foreman, which he held from 2016 until his retirement.
Many friends and family members, including Sheila, daughter Mandy Smith, grandson Walker Young, Barry and Iris Walker, Johnny Patton, Adam Nation, Jeff Norman, Tim Coulter and Dale Coker attended the luncheon.
