The Oglethorpe County High School band will host its annual mattress sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 21 at the high school.
There will be more than 25 brand-name mattress floor models on display, including Purple, Southerland and Therapedic. In addition, premium bedding accessories — including weighted blankets, luxury pillows and sheets and adjustable power bases — will be available.
Proceeds go to the OCHS band program.
Ticket to Ride to be March 28
The 15th annual Firefly Trail’s Ticket to Ride will be held on March 28.
The non-competitive cycling event, which will have starting points in Athens, Winterville and Union Point, is held to celebrate the 12 miles of completed trail and raise funds for the proposed 27 miles of trail.
Cyclists can start at 9 a.m. in Union Point and 10 a.m. in Athens and Winterville. They can choose several options of trail and stopping points.
This year’s event will include the inaugural Trailblazer 5K and fun run at Dudley Park in Athens. The 5K will start at 8 a.m. and the fun run will start at 9 a.m.
