Pinnacle Bank to merge with Morris bank in 2026

 

Pinnacle Bank, which has a branch in Lexington, announced a merger with Morris Bank on Nov. 20. 

 

The transaction is expected to close sometime in the first half of next year, according to a release. The companies also will have a new name and logo.

 

Pinnacle, which is headquartered in Elberton, has 26 branches in northeast and east Georgia. Morris has nine branches in central and southeastern Georgia.

 

Once merged, the new company will be based in Elberton.

 

Collins to hold mobile office hours

 

U.S. Rep. Mike Collins’ staff will hold mobile office hours throughout the 10th Congressional District this month.

 

A staff member will be available to hear from residents on an individual or family basis during these times.

 

Oglethorpe County’s time is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10 in the Board of Commissioners board room at 105 Union Point Road in Lexington.

 

Staff members also will meet with residents in Madison, Oconee and Barrow counties.

 

No appointment is necessary.

 

Business After Hours scheduled for Dec. 9

 

The Oglethorpe County Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Business After Hours from 5:30-7 p.m. at Countryside Manor (56 Grove Chapel Church Road, Winterville). 

 

Members, business owners and the public are invited to the event.

 

Winterville cemetery to hold wreath ceremony

 

Wreaths across America and the Clarke County Civil Air Patrol composite squadron will hold a wreath dedication ceremony at noon Saturday, Dec. 13 at Winterville Cemetery.

 

Last year, more than 4 million volunteers placed 3 million wreaths at 4,909 locations.
