The sixth annual Maxeys Christmas Parade is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 in downtown Maxeys.
The Christmas Marketplace, featuring food trucks, vendors, music and more will start at 10 a.m. There will be a visit from Santa.
Other Christmas events in Oglethorpe County include:
- The Chamber of Commerce’s annual Christmas Marketplace will be held Nov. 22-24 at The Depot in Crawford. Email oglethoprechamber@gmail.com for a vendor application.

MOAS to hold weekend yard sale
The Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter has scheduled a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 and from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Nov. 10.
Items include: toys, decor, pet accessories, furniture, appliances and “hidden treasures.”
The yard sale will be held at the shelter at 1888 Colbert-Danielsville Road in Danielsville.
All funds from the sale will be used to help care for the animals at the shelter. Cats and dogs will be available for adoption.
PlowShare to meet on Monday, Nov. 11
PlowShare will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at the Georgia Farm Bureau.
Carol Williamson will lead a discussion of successes and issues found while working in summer and fall gardens this year.
Analysts will be there to conduct postmortems on plants that succumbed to insects, pathogens and other stresses this year.
The group will hold a Christmas Market during its Christmas celebration on Dec. 9. PlowShare members can sell their homegrown or homemade items.
