The Oglethorpe County Zoning Board approved two rezoning topics and one variance at Monday’s meeting.
Kevin Ashe requested a rezone of 2238 Beaverdam Road from an agricultural residential to single family residential.
“There is a private drive with three houses on it, so they have to have their own driveway because we do not allow more than three (houses),” said Janet Hill, zoning board chair.
Robert Drew moved to approve with conditions “being that they (property owner) follow that easement and use the driveway.”
It became a 3-2 vote to approve, with Jimmy Shealy and Morgan Robinson against.
In other business, the zoning board:
- Approved Sara Brubacker’s request to rezone E.L. Sanders Jr.'s estate at 861 Stephens Salem Road from general agriculture to agricultural residential. Brubacker will be able to sell the property as residential with this rezoning.
- Approved Broughton Paul’s request for a zoning variance for 924 Lexington-Carlton Road between the property’s storage shed and mobile home for family occupants.
