Barbara Anne Adkins, 85, of Greenville, Georgia, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, at her home.
Mrs. Adkins was born Dec. 8, 1939, in Maxeys, the daughter of John Glover Griffith and Agnes Belle Burgess Griffith. She retired as a school teacher with over 35 years, teaching at Flint River Academy in Woodbury, Georgia. She was a member of the Greenville Baptist Church and the Young Ladies Sunday School class.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Carolyn Wynes.
She is survived by her husband Hunter Mell Adkins Sr., daughter Mellanie (Chuck) Wade and son Hunter (Simone) Adkins Jr. all of Greenville, grandchildren Kyle (Kristi) Titus of LaGrange, Georgia, Celeste (Brian) Garrett of Pine Mountain, Georgia, and Hunter (Shana) Adkins of Acworth, Georgia, great-grandchildren Greyson Titus, Preston Pressley, Peyton Aldridge, Charlie Garrett, Beau Garrett, Amelia Garrett, and Avery Adkins, along with extended family and friends.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16 at the Greenville City Cemetery, with Dr. Jonathan Porter officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greenville Baptist Church. The Adkins family is being assisted by Cox Funeral Home, Manchester, Georgia, with the arrangements.
