Dorothy Daniel Self, 97, of Watkinsville, passed away at home surrounded by her family and friends on Nov. 14, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Thomas Daniel and Ella Fowler Daniel; her husband, Will "Bill" Self; two daughters, Peggy Brock and Patsy Williford; one grandson, Ted Self, and one great-grandson, Aubry Williford.
Survivors include her son, Eddie (Ann) Self; daughters, Melinda (Sam) Bernard and Diane Burger; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was born and lived her 97 years in Watkinsville. She worked at Good Luck Manufacturing as a seamstress for the early part of her life. Then she worked at Fritz-Mar until she went to work at Johnson and Johnson Chicopee.
Mostly though, she loved being at home with her family. She was a member of Crawford Pentecostal Church, where she had so many friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024 at Lord & Stephens, West. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Eddie Boswell, David Brake, Jamie Hubbard, Kevin Robins, Marty Smith, Paul York and honorary pallbearer, Mike Self. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
