Guy W. Lowe, 80, of Arnoldsville, husband of the late Carolyn W. Lowe, passed away on July 26, 2025. Born in Athens, he was the son of the late Pearl and Nell Lowe of Winterville.
Lowe retired from the University of Georgia after 37 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Lowe, sisters Thelma Wilson and Collen Lowe. Survivors include sons Timothy W. Lowe Sr., Crawford, and Travis D. Lowe (Lisa), Arnoldsville, grandson Timothy W. Lowe Jr. (Emily), granddaughter Cassidy A. Lowe, Arnoldsville, great-grandchildren Rhett D. Lowe and Wyatt H. Lowe, brother Tony Lowe (Lorrie), Winterville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes East in Athens from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, followed by a private burial at Corinth Baptist Church.
