Jenna Suzanne Kaye
Jenna Suzanne Kaye, 71, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026. Having changed her legal name later in life, she was known to most friends and family as Debra “Debbie” Shirley Kovarik.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Talley Shirley and Marjorie Catherine Yarn Shirley, as well as her sister, Jeannie Rebecca Shirley Campbell. She is survived by her son, Austin J. Kovarik, her nephew, Timothy J. Campbell, and two sisters, Laura Aldora Yarn Shirley Longhurst (Alan), and Connie Gail Yarn Olsen (Roger).
Debbie worked as a nurse and in other healthcare-related roles throughout the ’80s and ’90s before transitioning to work in childcare.
Her proudest achievement was being named director of the after-school program for youth at Snellville United Methodist, where she became known as “Miss Debbie.”
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations to the UGA CARE Center.
