Obituary: Jerilyn Titus Nixon

Jerilyn Titus Nixon, 47, of Crawford, Georgia, died on Nov. 7, 2024. She was the daughter of Linda Parish and the late Jerry Titus of Lexington, Georgia.

 

She was also preceded in death by her grandfather, James Parish; grandparents, Jane and Edgar Titus; great-grandmother, Viola Haralson (Bammy); and special cousin, Frances Britt.

 

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Nixon, and sons, Andrew Titus and Daniel May; her grandmother, Frances Parish of Crawford; uncle, Jerry Howell of Knoxville, Tennessee; aunts, Carol (Butch) Banks of Monroe, and Ann (Fred) O’Neill of Gainesville; cousins Christy (Greg) Parker, Kate and Sarah Parker of Milton, Jaime (Brian) Lackey, Tyler and Grant Lackey of Marietta, Jennifer (Dave) Jeffery, Travis, Carolyn, and Eric Jeffery of Monroe, Patricia Baldwin of Fulshear, Texas, and her children, Robert Hill, Edyth Avila, Veronica Dixon, Melody Tagliere, Carolyn Baldwin, Jeremiah Baldwin, and Grace Kraft; father-in-law Bobby Nixon; step-mother-in-law Penny Nixon; mother-in-law Glenda Nixon; sister- and brother-in-law Mandy and Joe Meacacke.

 

Jerilyn grew up in Tucker and Lexington, Georgia. She attended Greater Atlanta Christian School and was a 1996 graduate of Oglethorpe County High School. She was a former assistant manager of Goodys and Dollar General in Athens. She loved playing with her cats, shopping, creating scrapbooks and playing games. She loved her family and friends and had the sweetest soul and biggest heart for people in need. She will be missed.

 

The family will receive friends from 2-7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 at Lord & Stephens East.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. at Lord & Stephens East with graveside service to follow at Athens Memorial Gardens.

 

Floral tributes will be appreciated. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to her father’s legacy to the community, the Lexington Community Center. Donations can be mailed to Lexington Downtown Development Authority, P.O. Box 31, Lexington, GA 30648 — Marked Lexington Community Center Building Fund /Jerilyn — or dropped off for deposit at the Lexington branch of Pinnacle Bank.
