Junior Fowler, age 80, passed away peacefully on Dec. 14, 2025.
Junior was a devoted brother, uncle and friend who treasured time spent with family and loved ones. He shared a particularly close bond with his sister Diane McElroy and brother-in-law Mike McElroy, as well as their children, Renee King, Michael McElroy and Lavelle Parten, who meant a great deal to him.
An avid outdoorsman, Junior found his greatest joy in nature. He loved camping, trout fishing and spending evenings around the campfire cooking meals and sharing stories that brought laughter and connection to everyone nearby. He was also an enthusiastic golfer who enjoyed both the game and the camaraderie it brought.
Junior will be lovingly welcomed at the gates of Heaven by his parents, Vester and Mattie Fowler, and his brothers Carl Fowler, JT Fowler and Frog Fowler, and his sister Irene Moore, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sisters, Corine Herring, Maryann Bentley and Diane McElroy; and his brother-in-law Mike McElroy. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Renee King, Michael McElroy, Lavelle Parten, Tanya Bazzle, Billyann Bentley, Bill Bentley, Pam Kaminski, Greg Herring, Yvette Wood, Dallas Herring, Waymond Herring, Baby JR Moore, Wayne Moore, Sandy Wrinkle, Bill Fowler, Jay Fowler, Michael Fowler and Elizabeth, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Junior was known for his generous heart and compassion for others. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages honoring his memory through donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause he supported deeply.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced on the Lord & Stephens website.
Junior will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his storytelling and the warmth he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.
