It is with heavy hearts that our family shares that Justin Barnett of Athens passed away on Oct. 9, 2024.
Justin was such a loyal and loving son, stepson, kitty daddy to Blue, brother and friend. His sweet mannerisms and loving heart will surely be missed. He was employed by the University of Georgia for over 20 years, with the last 10 at the College of Education as the business manager in math and sciences. He was a dedicated employee and so much enjoyed his years there.
He attended Athens Church.
Justin is preceded in death by his father Edward Barnett.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Teresa and David Yonce; sister Julie Barnett; kitty Blue; niece Emily Barnett; stepsisters, Melissa Hayes (Rob), Jessica Davis (Ben), Carey Wood (Jamie), and Crystal Colley (Wesley); stepbrother Chris Lowen (Jenni): step nieces Cassie and Krysta Lowen, Caitlin and Helen Hayes, Erica, Rebecca, and Charlotte Wood, and Lydia Davis, step nephews Wyatt Davis and Phillip Lowen; uncles, aunts and cousins.
A casual memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Lord & Stephens East Chapel at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13.
The family requests in memory of Justin to please wear blue since it was his favorite color.
