Katie Sue Fauber, 84, of Comer, passed away on Aug. 26, 2024. Born on Nov. 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John “Sam” Colquitt and Nettie Inez Graham Colquitt.

 

Sue was a longtime member of Colliers Batist Church in Comer. She was a homemaker while also working a full-time job at Piedmont Athens Regional, where she retired after 19 years. She loved to cook, bake, crochet, knit, sew and was involved with her children and grandchildren. 

 

Sue was the president of the Madison County Band Boosters and started a Cub Scout Den in Hull.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Malcolm L. “Pete” Fauber Jr. children Vicki Lynn Taylor and Nell Inez Kennison, granddaughter Lindsey Kennison, siblings Clayton Colquitt and Tom Colquitt.

 

Survivors include her children Malcolm L. “Mack” Fauber III and Elizabeth Fauber Walden (Ricky), grandchildren Timothy Huff, Jackie Huff, Matthew Kennison (Amber), Missy Autrey and Michelle Autrey, 17 great grandchildren; sister Ann Lyons, and many nieces and nephews.

 

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at Comer City Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arbor Pay Foundation at arborday.org, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta — Scottish Rite Hospital at give.choa.org/site/Donation2?df_id=1480&mfc_pref=T&1480.donation=form1&s_src=home, or plant a tree in remembrance of Sue.
