Laura Kristan Davis, 52, of Crawford, passed away peacefully at home with her family on Friday, Oct. 18, following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Wayne Davis and Kay Bridges Nicklow. Kristan was born in Athens and was a lifelong resident of Oglethorpe County. Kristan was preceded in death by her brother W. Lowell Davis Jr.; her sister Meghan Davis; her mother Kay Bridges Nicklow; and her father Wayne Davis.
She is survived by her daughter Laura Abney; son Nicholas Abney; and brother Philip Davis. Kristan is also survived by many loved ones, including her boyfriend Shane Kitchens; stepmother Vicki Lee; aunts Eloise, Judy and Peggy; nieces and nephews Caleb, Conor, Alyse and Lincoln; first husband Neil Abney; in-laws Kay and Sherrill Abney; and many cousins.
Kristan loved cats and music. She was a generous soul who would do anything for her loved ones.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Crawford Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the March of Dimes, an organization Kristan supported during her career at Athens Regional.
