Mark William Matthews, 62, of Comer, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024.
Born on March 20, 1962 in Greenville, South Carolina, he was preceded in death by his parents I. V Matthews and Mary Johnson Matthews.
Mark worked for many years as a long-haul truck driver.
Survivors include his children Bobby Matthews (Mandy) and Madyson Parsons (Christopher); siblings Kenny Matthews (Vicky), Donny Matthews (Melissa) and Kristy Smith (Wesley); grandchildren Jordan, Tyler, Trevor and Trent Matthews, and MaryKate and Greyson Parsons, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 12, at the chapel of Lord & Stephens, Danielsville.
Officiating the service is his cousin, Greg Mitchell. Those serving as pallbearers are his grandsons Tyler and Trevor Matthews, nephews Jacob, Caleb and Chase Matthews and cousin Shawn Johnson.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Carlton Cemetery.
