Martha Steele Woods, 95, of Lexington, died Sept. 13, 2024.
She was the daughter of the late Alvin Ed and Eula Mae Steele, and also preceded by her husband Wallace Edward Woods. She is also preceded in death by her son Gary Wallace Woods and daughter Kathie Louise Yielding, and brother Alvin Ed Steele Jr.
Woods was a longtime seamstress and retired from Georgia Sportswear. She loved sewing and gardening, and was a member of Pentecost Chapel Congregational Holiness Church in Lexington.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16 at Pentecost Chapel Congregational Holiness Church with the Rev. Butch Roberts and the Rev. Jeffrey Gailey officiating.
Woods will lie in state in the church from 1-2 p.m. The viewing will take place from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15 at the funeral home.
The interment will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include daughter Pam Woods Horton (Michael); sister Eddie Mae Woods; grandchildren Ashley Young (Dan), Brian Sisk (Caitlin) and Abby Horton, and six great-grandchildren.
