Mary Ann Wheeler (Woods)
Mary Ann Wheeler (Woods), 79, passed away Aug. 17, 2024. She was born Jan. 11, 1945 in Athens and raised in Whitehall.
A master seamstress her whole life, she worked for Wilkens, Georgia Sportswear and George Gibson’s Menswear. She loved the Lord, her family and sewing. She was a member of Lexington Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Wheeler of 51 years, parents Annie Pearl Schlock Smith and Mayfield Woods, and siblings Carolyn Moore, Irene Meeler, and Robert Smith.
A private service is to be set for a later date.
Survivors include daughter Kathy Harris Sisk, son Anthony (Katie) Wheeler, granddaughters Katie (Levi) Sisk Cooner and Molly Bureau Wheeler, great-grandchildren Braelyn Tucker, Diesel Yearwood and Dalton Yearwood, several in-laws, nieces and nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter.
