Obituary- Norman Lantie Spencer

Norman Lantie Spencer, 87, passed away Feb. 16, 2025. 

 

Spencer, of Lexington, was born in French Creek, West Virginia on May 6, 1937. He was the son of the late Lantie Spencer; raised by the late mother and stepfather, Reta and Marion Conrad; also preceded in death by a son, James A. Spencer. 

 

He was a member of Lexington Baptist Church in Lexington and a member of Oglethorpe Camp of The Gideons International. 

 

Spencer graduated from West Virginia State University with a B.S. in physics and mathematics.

 

Survivors include: wife of 61 years, Peggy Spencer; son Douglas (Nicole) Spencer; daughter Mareta Spencer (Doug) Spieth; three grandchildren, Lantie Spencer. James Spencer and Coralee Spieth.

The chapel service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at Lord & Stephens, East Chapel with the Revs. Matt Bartlett and Charles Jones officiating. The family will visit prior to the service from 3-5 p.m. The interment will be in Clark cemetery.
