Odell Barnes Sr. of Athens, died July 29, 2024. The funeral service was Friday Aug. 9 at New Season Transformation Ministry in Hull, with Pastor Maurice G. Walker, eulogist. Interment was in the Arnold’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife Vinettia Barnes; children Odell Barnes Jr., Joseph Crowley, Brandon Barnes and Kayla McGhee-Barnes; siblings Sarah (Albert) Burgess, Charlie (Betty Jean) Barnes, Daisy (Lonnie), Pittard, Barbara Jean Barnes, Emma Walker, Thelma Griffeth, Annie Sue Barnes, Annie Love and Florence Coleman; one grandson; one godson; aunts; uncle; in-laws and other relatives and friends.
Jones Funeral Chapel of Crawford was in charge of services.
