Philip Wayne Glenn, of Jefferson, left his earthly home to be with his Savior on Jan. 1, 2025. He was 58.
The son of Carolyn O. Davis and the late Billy Joe Glenn, Philip was preceded in death by stepfather Bobby l. Davis, grandparents the Rev. James and Margie Olds, Gertrude Chatham, aunt Margaret LeCroy, cousins Todd Olds, Angie Garrett, Carl Tolbert, Greg Tolbert and second cousin Kaleb Ray.
Philip is survived by his mother Carolyn O. Davis, sisters Wanda Bryant (David) of Commerce, Rhonda Wray (Tim) of Union Point and Marcia Glenn of Toccoa, and brothers Thomas Glenn (Michelle) of Crawford, Alex Bryant (Fahma) of Danielsville, and Chris Davis (Yulonda) of Athens.
Philip graduated from Oglethorpe County High School in 1984, joined the U.S. Navy and served his country for 13 years. Philip is remembered with a loving smile on his face and as a loving, caring and compassionate son who loved his family.
His memory is forever etched on our hearts and will be missed by all who knew him. The funeral honoring Philip’s life is led by the Rev. Jim Olds and Derek Paul. Pallbearers who will carry his body with honor and respect are Ken Ray, Kevin Ray, Dennis Moon, Frank Landreth, Todd Garrett and Ryan Garret.
Visitation and service will be Sunday. Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. and the funeral service is at 2 p.m.
The final resting place will be at Washington-Wilkes Memorial Gardens in Washington.
