Sheila S. Garrett
Sheila S. Garrett, cherished wife, mother, granna and sister, died suddenly on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, at the age of 63.
Born in Athens, she was a daughter of Faith Malcolm Bostick and the late Billy William Gillen. Sheila, or “Granna” to the ones who loved her the most, was truly one of a kind. She loved Georgia football, fish fries, crafting, hosting gatherings of any kind, and her friends and family.
Most of all, she loved and lived for her five grandsons and their happiness in this world. She touched so many lives in her time here and meant so much to so many. If she ever heard that someone was in need, she would be the first to help. Many referred to her as “Mama Sheila” which shows how truly special she was. Her presence was known wherever she went, whether it be from a hug, laugh, or big Go Dawgs!
She will be deeply missed by many.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Billy R. Garrett; sons, Jamie Allgood (Candice) and Shyanne Allgood (Annelise); stepson, Wesley Garrett (Ansleigh); siblings, Bill Gillen, Ron Wilson and Martha Gillen, and five beloved grandchildren, Jaxson, Jake, Lane, Joey and Beau.
Funeral services for Mrs. Garrett were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes, East. Interment followed at Athens Memory Gardens.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8 at the funeral home.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes, East, was in charge of arrangements.
