Ray Nelson Calloway Sr.

Ray Nelson Calloway Sr. died the morning of Jan. 21, 2024, with his loving children at his side.

Calloway was born in DeKalb County to the late Charlie Relisha Calloway and Nora Lee Calloway on September 17, 1938.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Calloway; daughter, Leaser (Wayne) Anderson; son, Nelson (Wendi) Calloway Jr.; grandkids, Subrina (Sean) Trealoff, Travis (Lauren) Calloway, Dwight (Tiffany) Anderson, Hannah (Bucky) Garrison, Kayla (Justin) Thomason; great grandkids, Damon Dake, Mason Anderson, Mathew Trealoff, Maverick Calloway, Aspen Calloway, Remington Garrison, Branson Garrison, Saige Garrison; and siblings, Doris Lamey, Bobby Calloway, Peggy Deal and Joy Turner-Brudon.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024 at Lord & Stephens, East in Athens.
