The Oglethorpe County girls soccer team used last week to prepare for the Region 8-A Division I playoffs, but first will play at Meadowcreek at 8 p.m. Friday.

The Patriots headed into the week at 7-5 and 3-4 in the region.

“This is our last week to prepare for the playoffs, and the girls have been training hard,” coach Erich Forschler said. “We’re all hoping to see some team growth offensively, and this is the time of year when playmakers need to reach their potential. We still haven’t reached our ceiling. The games this week are extensions of training that will hopefully give us some real-time, game-speed feedback on how much we have progressed.”
