Prep Roundup: Mason wins fourth area wrestling title to lead Patriots

Oglethorpe County will send 10 wrestlers and one alternate to the Class A individual sectional tournament this weekend at Jeff Davis High School in Hazelhurst.

 

Miles Mason and Paris Crowder won their weight classes at the individual area tournament last weekend to advance.

 

Mason became a four-time area champion when he defeated Davion Knox of Banks County in the final. 

 

Crowder defeated Commerce’s Wesley Usher in the title match.  

 

Other wrestlers to advance include: Klo Say (second place), Aidan Dellinger (second), Dylan Dunaway (third), Andrew Goller (third), Keyvon Gresham (third), Kendon Brown (third), Tanner McKie (fourth), Keagan Moats (fourth) and NayShawn Hagans (fifth).

 

OCHS girls wrestlers advance to sectionals

 

The OCHS girls wrestling finished fifth in the traditional area tournament at Westside in Augusta last Friday.

 

Cayla Hartrum placed third and Victoria Miller was fourth to advance to the sectionals tournament at Central Gwinnett on Friday.

 

Emily Wisham, Tristin Caldwell and Tessa Crosby each finished fifth and will be alternates. Nyah MacAphee, Alyson Woods and Sara Myers also posted wins for the Lady Patriots.
