Aariana Bell scored 15 points, but Lakeview Academy defeated the Oglethorpe County girls basketball team 50-39 on Tuesday night.
The loss dropped the Lady Patriots, who are fifth in the GHSA Class A Division I rankings, to 13-2 this season.
Bell added five rebounds and five steals. Denim Goddard scored 11 points and Kenzie Henderson added 15 rebounds and four blocks for the Lady Patriots.
On Jan. 6, Goddard scored 21 points to lead OCHS to a 53-43 win over Oconee County.
Elin Turner scored 10 points, Henderson added nine points and 13 rebounds, and Bell scored eight for the Lady Patriots.
Pittard leads Patriots
past Oconee County
Javaun Pittard scored 14 points and had 10 assists to lead Oglethorpe County to a 62-46 win over Oconee County on Jan. 6.
Ty Burgess had 14 points and seven rebounds, and Cole Appling added 12 points and four rebounds.
The Patriots’ varsity and JV games against Lakeview Academy, which were scheduled for Tuesday, were postponed due to sickness in the Lakeview program.
Also, Oglethorpe County’s ninth-grade and JV games, which were scheduled to be played at Cedar Shoals on Wednesday, were postponed because Cedar Shoals needed to make up a region game.
OCHS coach Larry Brown said the games haven’t been rescheduled.
