Maxeys explores agency funding for water system repairs, upgrades

Maxeys plans to work with the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority to determine its loan eligibility for water system repairs and upgrades.

Turnout is low for special election

A special election Tuesday cemented primary choices for the Public Service Commission and an open seat on the Winterville City Council, despite low turnout. Tim Echols won the Republican primary for District 2 of the Public Service Commission statewide, with 85.

Voting continues in Arnoldsville mayoral, council races

Early voting continues in Arnoldsville’s mayoral and city council elections. As of Monday morning, 23 out of 297 qualifying voters had cast ballots.    Early voting is being held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday, Nov. 4 at Arnoldsville City Hall. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Crawford mobile home additions approved

The Quiet Oaks Mobile Home Park is a step closer to adding new homes after an unanimous vote of the request was approved by the Crawford City Council on Feb. 14. The mayor will now decide.

Maxeys hires new water meter reader

The Maxeys city council discussed the new hire for a city water meter reader, the fourth annual Maxeys Model Mile 5K, construction on Poplar Creek Road and more at its meeting on May 10.    Council members discussed plans for the fourth annual Maxeys Model Mile 5K, which was held last Saturday.
