2022 OCHS Football Schedule Breakdown

Game 1 Aug. 19 East Jackson (8-AA) 2021 record: 3-7, 1-4 in 8-AAA What to know: The Eagles come to Patriot field in a non region matchup. All three of East Jackson’s wins came against teams with three or fewer wins. It was fifth in Region 8 and missed the playoffs.

Prep Roundup: Gabriel pitches Patriots to second win

Claire Gabriel gave up one hit and struck out 11 to lead Oglethorpe County to a 1-0 victory at Washington-Wilkes on Tuesday.    Gabriel walked only one in seven innings as the Patriots improved to 2-1.    Abby Jones had two hits and Jaden Booth drove in the only run.

OCHS football team set for scrimmage

Oglethorpe County football coach Mike Holland has one thing on his mind for Friday’s preseason scrimmage: improvement.   Holland and the Patriots will play at West Hall in Oakwood on Friday, just one week before their first regular-season game against East Jackson in Lexington.

Wrestling team improves to 20-1

The Oglethorpe County wrestling team, ranked No. 1 in Class AA, won four matches in the fourth annual Doug Eberhardt Memorial duals on Saturday to move to 20-1 this season. The victories were: Oglethorpe County 64, Athens Christian 9 Oglethorpe County 45, Swainsboro 33 Oglethorpe County 52.

Wrestlers ready for yet another winning season

With several returning athletes and talented incoming freshmen, coach Tim Stoudenmire says this year’s Oglethorpe County’s wrestling team could be the school’s best group yet. That’s an impressive claim, considering the Patriots won the Class AA team dual championship last season.

Pittard helps OCHS basketball ear wins

The Oglethorpe County High School boys basketball team is finding its footing after a challenging season last year. Entering this week, the Patriots had already won more games in the first nine games of this season than last year.

Hart County takes two from OCHS

Kenzie Henderson and McKenzie Freeman each had double-doubles, but it wasn’t enough to keep Hart County from a 67-60 overtime victory over Oglethorpe County in the Madison County Christmas Tournament on Tuesday night.

Patriots defeat Putnam, Winder in first home matches

Oglethorpe County opened its home schedule with two victories on Tuesday. The Patriots defeated Putnam County 72-18 and Winder-Barrow 72-9.   “All in all, it was a solid night,” coach Tim Stoudenmire said in an email.
