Linemen, special teams shine in spring football

The Oglethorpe County High School football team had 68 players at the end of spring practice. This was down from 80-plus at the interest meeting, but that’s still “a lot better” compared to last year’s numbers, according to head coach Mike Holland.   “This year, it feels different,” Holland said.

Opinion Column: Legend of former Bulldog, Redskin Len Hauss will live on

(Note: This eulogy was delivered on Dec. 20 in Jesup First Baptist Church.)   Len Hauss.   I can close my eyes and see the Yellow Jackets’ fullback, No. 41, pile driving Jesup to a 1959 state football championship.
