Forschler’s departure one of many for coaching staff

Oglethorpe County High School’s athletic staff will experience changes next year, including a new girls soccer coach.Erich Forschler is stepping away from his position following the graduation of twins Emily and Madeleine Forschler, who have signed to play at South Georgia State in Douglas.

Teachers go beyond classrooms to drive student success

Steve Irwin and Gary Hughes are educators who do more than teach and coach. They can often be found behind the wheel, driving teams to games, meets and tournaments.

OCHS girls golf team aims for success

With only seven players and no home course, the Oglethorpe County girls golf team faces its share of challenges this spring.  Last season, the Patriots didn’t win or place in any tournament, but for Sofia Horsley, those obstacles are just part of the game.

Prep Roundup: Martin’s three RBIs lead Patriots past Cedar

Mathew Martin went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two steals to lead Oglethorpe County to a 12-2, five-inning victory over Cedar Shoals in Lexington on March 25.    Evans Wilkins, Eli Ossick, Caleb Hall and Bryce Frankel had two hits each for the Patriots, who had 14 hits to improve to 8-8.
