Unemployment in Oglethorpe County has remained relatively unchanged the past five years, despite challenges in the county and efforts to improve employment opportunities.

Lexington needs DDA, commission spots filled

Organizations in Lexington say they need more residents to serve. Two spots need to be filled on Lexington’s Downtown Development Authority and one spot is open on the city’s Historic Preservation Commission.

Lexington’s master plan reveals blueprint for revamping notable properties

Parish plans to bring antique, art businesses to Lexington

Linda Parish plans to bring new art and antique businesses to the buildings next to The Oglethorpe Echo in downtown Lexington. “There's a lot of talent in this county,” Parish said. “The art colony that we have out here is, I think, really important to the county.
