Researchers at the University of Georgia are interested in learning what you think about news coverage in Oglethorpe County. If you're 18 or older and interested in contributing to the study, see their letter below for more information and the survey link. And please share.
Dear Oglethorpe County residents,
According to a recent poll by the Newseum Institute, the public’s trust in the news media is at an all-time low. The more people distrust reporters, the more they might turn away from news, which means they may miss out on important information about their community.
We think one way to address this issue is by asking adults (18 and older) in Oglethorpe County to share your thoughts and opinions to help improve your local news coverage.
We are researchers from the University of Georgia, and we are conducting a research study (approved by the UGA Institutional Review Board) about community journalism.
Please click this link, or the survey link below, to complete the first survey. You will also be asked if we can follow-up with you next year for a shorter, second survey.
The first survey should take about 10-15 minutes or less, and the optional follow-up survey next year will be much shorter. Your participation is voluntary. Please do not hesitate to email or call us with any questions. You can reach us using the contact information below.
Thank you very much for your time. It is through the help of individuals like you that we can improve local news coverage.
