COVID-19 cases on rise across Oglethorpe County

COVID-19 numbers have jumped in Oglethorpe County since the start of 2022.

 

There have been 210 reported cases in the county since Dec. 31, tripling the number of 72 reported for the final two weeks of 2021, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health’s Daily Status Report.

 

Oglethorpe County has also transitioned from the orange zone to red zone in terms of cases, indicating a severe volume.

 

The state has seen a similar trend as Georgia’s cases have nearly doubled the past two weeks, going from 114,599 cases on Dec. 31 to 210,791 on Jan. 10.

 

The Oglethorpe County Health Department is offering vaccination and booster shots for those who are eligible. Call the clinic or go to the Northeast Health District website (publichealthathens.com/wp/) to schedule an appointment.
