Firefly Cruise returns to Lexington on Sunday

 

The 14th annual Firefly Cruise In will be held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28 at Courthouse Square in downtown Lexington. 

 

Music will be provided by Tommy Landrum’s ‘Cruzin to the Oldies’. There is a $10 registration fee for vehicles. The event is free to spectators.

School-based health center opens

 

The Oglethorpe County School System and MedLink Georgia will open the Patriot Health Hub on Sept. 29.

 

The joint effort will be housed in Suite 101 in the school system’s multi-purpose building at 15 Fairground Road in Lexington. Audra Turbeville is the family nurse practitioner.

School program receives grant

 

The Oglethorpe County School System’s “Every Child Thrives in Oglethorpe: From Trauma to Resilience Professional Learning Community” initiative will receive a grant from the Resilient Northeast Georgia fund.

 

These grants are part of a statewide effort to build trauma-informed, integrated behavioral health systems to prevent trauma in children to young adults.

 

The Oglethorpe County program is one of several to receive grants in a 12-county area.
