Leon Russell Craig, 64, of Arnoldsville, passed away on Dec. 3, 2025.
Born in Hall County, he was the son of the late Leon Walker Craig and Margaret “Doodie” Craig. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Dockery Craig.
Survivors include his three children: Amanda Swanner (David), Courtney Hancock (Bubba), and Brentlee “DJ” Craig; five grandchildren: Hailey Swanner, Amber Swanner, Alexis Craig, Chase Craig, and Bradley Swanner; five siblings: Donna Jones (George), Jan Spradley (Kenny), Michael Craig (Suzie), Daniel Craig (Karen), and Paul Craig (Monica); in-laws, Roland and Sandra Dockery; 12 nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Leon was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a lineman for many years and had a deep love for motorcycles. He was a loving father and will be missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes, East, at noon Tuesday, Dec. 9. The family will receive friends the night prior, from 5–7 p.m. Following the service, interment will take place at Temple United Methodist Church Cemetery.
