Michael Burden, 64, of Athens, died Nov. 25, 2025.
The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at Cedar Shoals High School, with Pastor Arthur Hubbard serving as eulogist. Interment followed in the Burden Family Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Terry Burden; aunt, Mary Echols, who raised him; godmother, Geneva Hood; father, Robert Fleming; aunt, Catherine Burden; uncle, Curtis Fleming; daughters, Tomeka Waller, Mequehaun Shanae Burden, Rhanda Burden, Monica Simmons, and Ericka (Quarica) Taylor; son, Desmond Hawes; sisters, Chenette (Eugene) Rittenberry, Lynn (Anthony) Heard, Angela (Mike) Fleming, Gloria Fleming, Robin (Patrick) Fleming, Felicia (Arthur) Hubbard, Alesia (Mack) Geter, Yasma (Kem) Stephens, Tracie (Robert) Smith, Tracey (Francois) Kouassi, and Waltina Gaines; brothers, Kevin (Stephanie) Fleming and Robert Fleming Jr.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Jones Funeral Chapel, Crawford, was in charge of arrangements.
