Denim Goddard scored 19 points and had eight steals to lead the Oglethorpe County girls to a 60-43 victory at Social Circle on Tuesday.

 

Kenzie Henderson had 15 points and 15 rebounds for the Lady Patriots (18-2, 3-0 in Region 5-A Division I), who are fifth in the GHSA Class A Division I ranking. Aariana Bell added nine points.

 

On Friday, the Lady Patriots defeated Jasper County 66-22 behind Goddard’s 16 points and 11 points from Henderson. Elin Turner added 10 points and seven steals.

 

Patriots improve to 3-0 in the region

Jake Turner scored 10 points and had eight rebounds to lead the OCHS boys to a 44-34 victory at Social Circle on Tuesday. The Patriots improved to 15-6 and 3-0 in the region.

 

On Friday, Cole Appling scored 21 points and Javaun Pittard had 20 points and 14 rebounds in a 72-53 win over Jasper County. Jaelin Lumpkin added 17 points.

 

Young wrestlers fare well in Elbert

Several younger OCHS wrestlers placed at a varsity tournament at Elbert County on Saturday. 

 

Freshman Luke Holbrooks was third, freshman Keyvon Gresham placed fourth and sophomore Ethan McLean finished fourth.

 

The Patriots will compete in the individual area championships at Elbert County this weekend. The top four individuals in each weight class will advance to sectionals next week in Dublin.
