Update: Councilman’s death affects Arnoldsville election outcome

Arnoldsville city councilman Nick Sanders died the night before Tuesday's election, meaning the other five candidates will fill the five council seats.

Early voting continues in Arnoldsville’s mayoral and city council elections. As of Monday morning, 23 out of 297 qualifying voters had cast ballots. Early voting is being held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday, Nov. 4 at Arnoldsville City Hall. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Marilyn Huff-Waller’s work wasn’t done when the runoff votes were finally counted last week. She’s spent the past week certifying ballots, which were due to the Secretary of State’s office by 5 p.m. Monday. Other paperwork remains. “Well, there’s still lots to be done,” she said.
