The Oglethorpe County Chamber of Commerce will host the 11th Annual Firefly Cruise In from 1-5 p.m. Sunday. This family-friendly car show will take place at the Courthouse Square in Lexington.    “I’m feeling really good about it this year,” said Linda Parish, the chamber’s office manager.

Latest COVID-19 booster offered at Medlink Oglethorpe

Various locations in Oglethorpe County offer the updated COVID-19 booster, and local health professionals continue to spread the word about its effectiveness.     The Food and Drug Administration authorized the use of a new booster vaccine for protection against COVID-19 on Aug. 31.

Commission approves pay adjustments

The Oglethorpe County Board of Commissioners voted to modify their earnings during their monthly meeting on Monday night. The change isn’t a direct increase in pay for the commissioners, but a fix for a compensation error.

EDA ends Paladin agreement, pivots to state funds

The Oglethorpe County Economic Development Authority (EDA) voted last Tuesday to notify Paladin Wireless that it’s terminating the Performance and Accountability agreement with the service provider, according to county administrator Josh Hawkins.
