Lucy E. Thornton Geter, 95, of Elberton, died Aug. 30, 2025. The funeral service was Saturday, Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. at New Erza Baptist Church in Elberton with the Rev. Thomas Jackson, eulogist. Interment was in the Green Lawn Cemetery.

Marilyn Jane Scarborough Dellinger entered the gates of her heavenly home into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Aug. 24, 2025. Born in Lexington on Aug. 31, 1941, she was the oldest daughter of O.D. and Marie Bryant Scarborough. Jane spent much of her younger years in Lexington.

Howard C. Esco Sr., a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on Aug. 23, 2025, at the age of 97.  Howard was born on June 18, 1928, in Colbert, to the late Hal H. and Leight C. Esco. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Surecia E.

Sheila S. Garrett, cherished wife, mother, granna and sister, died suddenly on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, at the age of 63. Born in Athens, she was a daughter of Faith Malcolm Bostick and the late Billy William Gillen. Sheila, or “Granna” to the ones who loved her the most, was truly one of a kind.

David John Stewart was born in Spokane, Washington, on April 18, 1955.  He attended Sheridan Grade School until he transferred to Upper Columbia Academy for the fifth grade. He graduated from the academy in 1973 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Walla Walla College in 1977.
