Asa Franklin Huff, 79, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, in his residence. Asa was born in Athens to the late David and Fannie Butler Huff and graduated from Athens High School.  After graduation, Asa began working as a journeyman carpenter, before being drafted into the U.S.

Obituary: Luther Callaway Jr.

Luther Callaway Jr., of Athens, died March 26, 2025. The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. April 5, 2025 at Rocky Branch Baptist Church, with Pastor David Bell, eulogist. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Randall C. Hicks, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 30.

Alex Sims, of Colbert, died March 24, 2025.  The funeral service was at noon March 29 at Gholston Baptist Church, with Pastor Ricky Howard, eulogist. Interment was in the Holly Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Obituary: Jessie Ash Meyer

Jessie Ash Meyer, born March 16, 1935, of Arnoldsville, passed away on March 28, 2025, at the age of 90.  The 10th and last child of the late Carl and Amanda Gilleland Ash, she was raised in Bishop.

Obituary: Birdie Mae Echols Davis

Birdie Mae Echols Davis, of Comer, died March 27, 2025.  The viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5 at Shiloh Baptist Church.

Obituary: Norma Snow Craddock

Norma Snow Craddock of Arnoldsville, born May 7, 1938, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 20, 2025 after a brief illness.   Born in Stevens Creek, Virginia, she was the daughter of Ruth Stanley Snow and Alex Clifton Snow. She spent much of her youth in Rockingham County, North Carolina.
