On the morning of January 31, 2023, at the age of 91, Lillious Hershel (LH) Lewis Jr. joined many loved ones in heaven.   LH was born to Bertha and LH Lewis Sr. in Athens on March 18, 1931. LH graduated from Athens High School in 1948.

George Boles Fortson, 89, husband of 67 years to Martha Holloman Fortson, died on Sunday, January 22, 2023.   Born in Elberton, he was the son of the late George Haley Fortson and Anna Julia Bunch Forton. George retired from Farmers Hardware after 45 years and served in the US Army.
