That’s two in a row for the Patriots. Caden Hartrum and Jackson Tatum each scored two touchdowns to lead OCHS to a 42-12 win over Washington-Wilkes on Friday night. Paris Crowder and O’Maury Huggs also scored.

Key players back as football team starts spring practices

The Oglethorpe County football team has started spring practice, which consists of 10 practices in roughly two weeks.

‘Joe Been Working:’ Senior has left his mark on three OCHS sports

Oglethorpe County High School senior Jordan Johnson isn’t just a standout athlete, he’s a tone-setter. Whether it’s on the football field, basketball court, or track, Johnson, who teammates call “Joe,” has built a name for himself as a competitor and someone younger athletes gravitate toward.

Unusual defense shines in shutout

Oglethorpe County’s defense might look a bit peculiar, but it’s by design.    The Patriots run a 3-3 defense, which isn’t conventional. But using that scheme, the defense shut out Riverside Military Academy 57-0 in Friday night’s homecoming game to improve to 2-3 this season.

Patriots set for home opener

Oglethorpe County will head into this week’s home opener against Banks County with a goal to correct the mistakes that led to a season-opening loss.   The Patriots fell to East Jackson 14-7 last Friday night.
