News Roundup: Registration for primary ends April 22

The final day to register to vote or update your address for this year’s general primary is Monday, April 22.     Residents can register or check their voter status online at mvp.sos.ga.gov or visit the Board of Elections office at 41 Fairground Road in Lexington.

County early voting behind usual pace

Although early voting numbers across Georgia have risen by 34% since the last midterm, Oglethorpe County has seen a decrease in early voter turnout this year.    Oglethorpe County has 11,309 eligible voters; 2,852 have voted early, a turnout of 25%.

Early voting starts Oct. 17

Election season is underway, with early voting for the Nov. 8 midterm election beginning on Monday, Oct. 17.    Through early voting, the Oglethorpe County Board of Elections officials hope to increase voter turnout and offer convenience for citizens. Early voting ends on Nov. 4.
