Oglethorpe Animal Clinic provides general care to the animals and beloved pets of the county. Staff see patients for a variety of healthcare needs, including: about 15-20 spays and neuters a week, wellness appointments, vaccinations, dental care and various surgeries. Story by Basil Terhune.

The Oglethorpe County High School football team defeated Lake Oconee Academy 42-0 last Friday night. The Patriots improved to 2-1 on the season for the first time since 2012. The team will travel to Greene County for their next game next Friday, September 16.

Tamita Brown and her husband Gabriel own and operate Caribe United, a 5-acre farm in Crawford. The small-scale poultry farm prizes itself not only on its products, but also on its use of non-GMO feed and traditional upbringing of livestock on pasture.

This multimedia package was produced in conjunction with UGA photojournalism professor Mark E. Johnson and the Woodall Weekend Workshop, a photojournalism event that was held in Oglethorpe County in March.
In December 2021, Kamryn King, a senior at Oglethorpe County High School, faced a sudden onset of impairments which she ultimately used to share a powerful message with her community. Mysathenia gravis, a neuromuscular disorder which causes weakness in skeletal muscles, caused her to struggle with swallowing and speech, among other things. King went on to compete and win the 2022 Miss Oglethorpe Pageant, making a public declaration on stage that she is an overcomer. This story was produced by Sydney Fordice as part of the annual Woodall Weekend Workshop, put on by the University of Georgia's visual journalism program.
At 80 years old, Eleanor Edwards picks up litter on Buddy Faust Road at least once a week. She heads out of her house in the morning, regardless of heat or cold, with her trash picker and trash bag, to clean her road.
